According to The Times, Chelsea are willing to let Cesc Fabregas leave on loan in January after his lack of game time this season.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who joined the Blues from Barcelona for £30m in 2014, has started just one Premier League game so far.

The west London club are even willing to subsidise his wages to allow Conte the best chance of signing another midfielder to replace him.

The Spain international does not fit into Conte's tactics after the Italian altered his formation to a 3-4-3 system.

The Sun claim Chelsea are lining up a shock £18million move for Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles.

The report claims Conte has set his sights on the 22-year-old as he looks for young homegrown talent to his ageing back line of John Terry, 35, Gary Cahill, 30, and David Luiz, 29.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez handed Lascelles the captain's armband this season after the departure of fellow centre-half Fabricio Coloccini.
