Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: This player was outstanding against Watford Liverpool player ratings against Watford Liverpool v Watford: Five things we learned

Watford were victims of a heavy 6-1 defeat to Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp’s men ran riot at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can, Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum all got themselves on the scoresheet, as Sadio Mane scored twice either side of half time too.

Jurgen Klopp started Mane, Firmino and Coutinho up front as Sturridge and Divock Origi settled for a spot on the bench.

Liverpool have had no problem finding the back of the net this term - their 30 goals in the league is four more than any other team have managed so far.

Goals have not just come from their attacking players either, with the Reds boasting 13 different goalscorers in 14 matches this term.

Sturridge, who is yet to open his account in the league, came off the bench for the final 19 minutes against Watford and looked to have a point to prove.

The England international struck the bar twice and his efforts clearly caught the eye of his German boss.

“It shows especially that they all know where the goal is, and try to score and do all these things,” Klopp said.

“It's nice to see. We played a really good match today and we had really good players on the bench, in a really good shape.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane scored twice for Jurgen Klopp's side against the Hornets

“Daniel came on the pitch and had outstanding good moments in his 20 minutes, Divock's in a good way, Alberto Moreno did really well, Gini was so close.

“Centre-halves – Dejan is ill, so it was really a close race between Ragnar and Lucas, and the young boys on the bench are in a good moment.

“So that's the only possibility, the only way which really works. The only pressure that's allowed is the pressure we make ourselves with the performances in training and then use them on the pitch. Until now it worked pretty well, but that's already passed.”

A comfortable win over the Hornets saw Liverpool go top of the league - one point ahead of Chelsea.
