Trio vying for title favouritism

We round round up all the latest betting moves from the Premier League and Sky Bet EFL following the weekend action.

  • Chelsea
  • Manchester City remain favourites for the Premier League

Premier League Title Race Odds

The Premier League outright betting revolves around three sides after Chelsea beat Middlesbrough on Sunday.

The Blues won 1-0 at the Riverside to move top of the table and are now 9/4 second favourites with Sky Bet.

Manchester City remain favourites following their own hard-fought win at Crystal Palace on Saturday but the margins are narrow and they're available at 15/8.

Liverpool are out to a 100/30 following their draw at Southampton while Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Manchester United saw them eased slightly to 7/1.

United are quoted at a high of 33/1 by Sky Bet, over twice the price of Tottenham who are back in to 16/1 after their dramatic victory over West Ham.

Diego Costa scored in Chelsea's win and is into 9/4 to be the division's top goalscorer, a price which puts him on the heels of favourite Sergio Aguero at 7/4.

Sky Bet Championship

Newcastle and Brighton dominate the betting still for the title at Sky Bet with the former 1/6 and the Seagulls 6/1.

The Magpies won 2-0 at Leeds on Sunday to go five points clear.

Norwich are now 33/1 chances as they were beaten at QPR with Aston Villa 80/1 after they drew 1-1 with Brighton on Friday night - Toon face Leeds on Sunday.

Rotherham's dreadful run continued and they are 1/16 for relegation with Blackburn 11/10.

Sky Bet League One

Sheffield United continued their winning streak with a 2-1 win over strugglers Shrewsbury. The Blades are now 6/4 favourites with Sky Bet to win the title. Scunthorpe remain six points clear at the top though after defeating Oldham and are 9/4 while Bolton are third favs at 5/1 thanks to an impressive 2-0 win over Millwall. AFC Wimbledon steam rollered Bury for the second time in a week and sit nicely in sixth place. The Dons can be backed at 11/1 for a second successive promotion.

Chesterfield are rooted to the bottom of the league after they suffered another loss this time away at Fleetwood. Danny Wilson's side are 2/9 for the drop. Swindon got crushed 4-0 at Rochdale and the Robins are now 6/4 to be relegated and turn into a nightmare season for Tim Sherwood.

Sky Bet League Two

A couple of late winners for two members of the chasing pack will have Plymouth looking over their shoulders heading into the busiest time of the year. The Pilgrims slipped up badly today losing 3-0 at home to Grimsby and have drifted from 6/5 with Sky Bet in the League winner market to revised odds of 13/8. Doncaster and Carlisle were both able to score late winners at home and have both been cut to 7/2. Meanwhile Portsmouth were held to a 1-1 draw away at Cheltenham which drops them out of the top four at the expense of Luton. Pompey are out to 4/1 from 3/1 whilst Luton are in a fine run of form and have shortened to 9/1 after a win up at Morecambe.

Morecambe continue to struggle after a fine start and after Saturday's defeat they are rated as a 15/8 shot to face the drop come the end of the season. Crawley were well beaten by Mansfield and their new manager Steve Evans (a former Red Devil himself) and are into 7/2 and second favourites for relegation.

Super 6 update

There was unfortunately no Super 6 jackpot winner on Saturday afternoon after no-one was ever really in contention following two early Watford goals against Leicester and a Bournemouth goal at Stoke.

This week's winner of £6,000 (£5,000 + £1,000 bonus) is Aidan Hargreaves from Redditch, who topped the table with 25 points. Hull City were the only team to throw a spanner in the works as they lost 3-0 at Sunderland following his prediction of a 1-0 success in favour of Hull.
