Manchester United's woes continued as West Ham held them to a 1-1 draw in the Premier League on Sunday.

Diafra Sakho's early goal was cancelled out by Zlatan Ibrahimovic but despite dominating, United could not find a winner.

It was the club's fourth home draw on the trot and their misery was compounded when manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle.

But Herrera is staying positive and has set his sights on firing United to the semi-finals of the competition to give the fans some festive cheer.

"It’s positive that we are playing on Wednesday, when we can get revenge," the Spain international said.

"We can turn our luck in the next game in the EFL Cup.

"It doesn’t matter the competition, it doesn’t matter the game, we just want to win. We want to fight for everything and we want to make our fans proud.

"West Ham are a good side – it is not easy to stop them creating chances. They have [Manuel] Lanzini, they have [Diafra] Sakho, they have [Dimitri] Payet, they have [Michail] Antonio – they have very good players but they just created two chances in the whole game.

"We were the dominant team so hopefully, on Wednesday, we can create as many chances as we did [on Sunday] and normally we should win."

United are aiming to win the competition for the first time since 2010.

Mourinho won the trophy on three occasions during his two stints in charge of Chelsea and could use the competition to ease the growing unrest at Old Trafford.
