The former Germany international is yet to feature for United this season after being frozen out by manager Jose Mourinho.

MLS commissioner Don Garber has since said that the American league would welcome the arrival of the 32-year-old midfielder, but the Red Bulls are not an option.

"Bastian Schweinsteiger is a great player with a great career," Red Bull's Oliver Mintzlaff told German daily Bild.

"But there have been no conversations, he isn't and will not be a topic for us."

The former Bayern Munich star, whose contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2018, has said the Red Devils will be his last club in Europe.

Garber said earlier this week: "We would receive Bastian with open arms. He would be a leader for many of our young players.

"Of course, we're following exactly what happened with Bastian."
