PSV Eindhoven closed the gap on second-placed Ajax to just a point with a 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam at Philips Stadion.

A well-worked goal from midfielder Bart Ramselaar with 13 minutes left secured victory for Philip Cocu's side, which was a first in three Eredivisie matches having also lost at Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Leaders Feyenoord, who have a 100 per cent Eredivisie record so far, take on Ajax in De Klassieker at De Kuip on Sunday.

Twente moved up into fifth place after a 2-0 victory at Go Ahead Eagles.

The visitors took the lead a minute before half-time through Ghana midfielder Yaw Yeboah, on loan from Lille.

Twente added a late second when Bersant Celina scored following a breakaway with a minute left, before Eagles substitute Jarchinio Antonia was shown a straight red card in stoppage-time for a foul on Stefan Thesker.

Struggling Roda moved off the bottom of the table after grabbing a 1-1 draw at home against Den Haag with a late goal from Mitchell Paulissen.

Edouard Duplan put the visitors ahead after a swift counter-attack on 37 minutes, which looked to have been enough for all three points at Parkstad Limburg Stadion until Paulissen clipped in a 20-yard free-kick with four minutes left.

The result saw Groningen drop to the foot of the Eredivisie ahead of their home match against AZ Alkmaar on Sunday.

In Saturday's late match, Willem II had forward Fran Sol sent off after only nine minutes at home against Utrecht and just could not hold out as Sebastian Halle scored a stoppage-time winner after a defensive mix-up to give the visitors a 1-0 win.
