Schweinsteiger has fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho this season.
The midfielder is yet to make a Premier League appearance this term for Manchester United and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the winter window.
One club he will not be joining though is Monchengladbach, as the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Max Eberl has ruled out a move for the German.

“Schweinsteiger is a fantastic player,” Eberl said.
“But he won't be ending his career with us."
Instead the 32-year-old now looks set to stay at Old Trafford.

When asked earlier this week if Schweinsteiger was likely to see out the season at United, Mourinho said: “I do.
“Unless the player knocks on our door with a future that he wants to grab with both hands.
“Then I never stop players doing what they want if, I repeat, if the conditions are right for the club.”
