That is according to Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
City travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night (8pm) for their crunch Premier League showdown.
The visitors head in off the back of a 2-2 draw at Arsenal, while Chelsea must bounce back from their shock 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Antonio Conte’s side suffered their first major blip in months but still hold a seven-point gap back to Spurs.
Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta could both earn a start for Manchester City against Chelsea
However, another failure against City will increase Chelsea nerves and offer a route to the top for their rivals.
Pep Guardiola’s defence has all but cost City a chance at catching Chelsea, but the manager has options tomorrow.
Kompany was back on the bench at Arsenal alongside experienced full-back Zabaleta, and Wright insists the pair are crucial to Guardiola’s side against the Blues.
“If Kompany IS anything like fit, then he should be a cert to start tomorrow night in my book,” Wright wrote in his column for The Sun.

With that pair in the line-up, Pep can play his five or six forwards and still get at Chelsea
Ian Wright
“Kompany is the no-nonsense, rock-solid defender they’ve lacked at times. And I reckon you’d get even more from John Stones with Vincent alongside him.
“I’d put Pablo Zabaleta in at full-back, too, to help stifle Marcos Alonso bombing down the left.
“With that pair in the line-up, Pep can play his five or six forwards and still get at Chelsea.
“Make no mistake, this title race is far from over as some would have you believe. And if City DO get a result tomorrow, then it’s absolutely wide open.
“There was a spell when Chelsea did look unbeatable, especially at home. But losing to Palace on Saturday has changed all that.
“This is an absolutely massive fixture for Chelsea now. A game when we find out if the defeat by Palace was a blip or if there’s going to be a genuine wobble.
“Tottenham have the easier run-in and will be rubbing their hands at this, especially having blown up themselves last season.
“Spurs know that from painful experience and will be praying the same happens at Stamford Bridge. The test for Chelsea is to make sure it doesn’t.”
