THAT'S A WRAP,

Thanks for joining us folks. I'll be back for Saturday's FA Cup action, kicking off with Liverpool v Wolves from Anfield.

Night!

MARCO SILVA

It was a good win but not enough for our goal. It is important to win the game but the result in the first leg caused problems for us.

It was a good performance again, a good attitude and we controlled the game in large periods against a big team. It is impossible at this moment to feel really happy.

The goal we conceded is not a normal goal, we lost control at the vital moment.

It is important that we won the game. We have won three games in a row at home and when I arrived we had won once in two months. I congratulated the players in the dressing room.

Sure I hope to improve the squad with three or four players. We need them. We have 15 or 16 players, it's not normal at this level.
22:04

Jamie Anderson

Now that's something to look forward to. Can Southampton cause a shock in unfamiliar surroundings? Or will Manchester United add more silverware to the cabinet at their second home?

JOSE MOURINHO

I just want to say congratulations to my players. It was a difficult road to be in the final and we are in the final.

I don't want to say anything else. It is enough, I am calm, I behaved on the bench so no more words.
21:52

Jamie Anderson

MICHAEL CARRICK

I wouldn't say we were relieved, we are disappointed in the way we played and losing the game. We wanted to keep our run going and we didn't play well at all.

Of course we are delighted to reach the final but it's a strange feeling.

We expected a tough game, they had to come at us, and we just didn't play well. We don't like losing and we've lost but we are in the final.

You don't get many chances to win a trophy so we have to grab that chance.

FT: HULL 2 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Wow. Jose Mourinho has given the shortest interview of all time.

He literally said congratulations to his players before walking back into the dressing room.

He's clearly furious about the penalty decisions from Jon Moss, and is trying to NOT say something he will regret.

Full quotes to come shortly.

Manchester United are through to the final of the EFL Cup with a 3-2 victory on aggregate.

Credit should go to Hull, who've ended Manchester United's 17-match unbeaten run and gave everything.

Paul Pogba does well to win a corner in the dying seconds. That's probably that.

Marouane Fellaini replaces Marcus Rashford… not sure if that's supposed to settle nerves?

90: HULL 2 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United just can't shake Hull off.

Marco Silva's side are pushing forward at every opportunity but haven't managed to create any clear-cut chances since Oumar Niasse's goal.

Time ticking away...
21:31

Jamie Anderson

87: HULL 2 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Marcos Rojo booked for a rash challenge on Lazar Markovic. Even Rojo couldn't get away without a caution for that.

Oumar Niasse's cross is desperately cleared by Michael Carrick. Backs to the wall for Manchester United now.

If Hull score now, we'll be having extra-time.
21:33

Jamie Anderson

84: HULL 2 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED - NIASSE

What?! Now this would be the most epic of comebacks!

Lazar Markovic plays a fantastic cross-field pass to David Meyler, who squares for Oumar Niasse to bundle home from close range.

Who was doubting Markovic and Niasse....?
21:24

Jamie Anderson

80: HULL 1 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED - WOODWORK

Crikey! Oumar Niasse rattles the crossbar with a header from a corner he beat Phil Jones far too easily there. Maybe give it ten minutes before booking those tickets...

Incidentally, Wayne Rooney replaced Jesse Lingard while that was happening. Sorry, the excitement got the better of me.
21:20

Jamie Anderson

78: HULL 1 - 1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Lazar Markovic's first involvement has been to blaze the ball to the moon after it broke nicely for him inside the area.

Hull's spirit is well and truly broken. I can confidently say Manchester United fans can start planning their trip to Wembley.

Analysis from our reporter Jeremy Cross, at the KCOM Stadium.

Paul Pogba has been missing in action for most of the night.

But special players produce special moments and he has reminded us all of his presence to settle United's nerves.

Just as Hull sensed a famous comeback, Pogba has struck on 66 minutes to make it 1-1 on the night at 3-1 to United overall.

It's now beyond Hull's reach and all Mourinho's men have to do is cruise towards he final whistle and they can start thinking about having some Wembley suits measures up.

Manchester United fans start signing "Are watching Merseyside?"

I'm almost certain that they're not having been brushed aside by Southampton last night.

Marco Silva makes his final change with Abel Hernandez replacing Adama Diomande, while Marcos Rojo hits the bar from a corner.

I hope you didn't listen to my Zlatan Ibrahimovic next goalscorer shouter because Paul Pogba has equalised.

The midfielder capitalises on a loose ball inside the area after Tom Huddlestone tackled Marcus Rashford, and expertly toe-pokes the ball under a crowd of players.

Hull need to score… twice.
21:06

Jamie Anderson

64: HULL 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

I've lost count of the number of penalty appeals Manchester United have had this half, but add another one to the slate.

David Meyler clumsily nudges Marcus Rashford over in the box but Jonathan Moss waves away the appeal.

Surely you're all sticking your money on Zlatan Ibrahimovic next goalscorer...
21:06

Jamie Anderson

60: HULL 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Well, here's a blast from the relatively recent past.

Lazar Markovic makes his first appearance since joining Hull on loan from Liverpool, he replaces Jarrod Bowen.

Evandro also comes on for Shaun Maloney, who's lacking a bit of match fitness.

Not sure why I've put a picture of Paul Pogba giving the thumbs up though…

Jamie Anderson

Jose Mourinho is going bonkers on the sidelines as Jonathan Moss refuses to award a penalty for Tom Huddlestone's push on Chris Smalling.

I think he went down too theatrically.

Meanwhile Sam Clucas and Marcus Rashford have a shoving match off the field but the experienced Wayne Rooney acts as referee and pulls his colleague away.

It's all kicking off at the KCOM Stadium!
20:55

Jamie Anderson

53: HULL 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Andy Hinchcliffe has just referred to Tom Huddlestone as an NFL quarter-back, who's dropping back and pinging delightful passes forward.

Not quite sure I'd have phrased it like that but he's certainly playing well.

Anyway, Harry Maguire manages to intercept Jesse Lingard's drilled cross out for a corner, which David Marshall punches clear.

Paul Pogba goes down under a challenge from Michael Dawson inside the penalty area. Absolutely no contact. The Frenchman either slipped or dived...

Michael Dawson is appealing to Jon Moss but I think the referee has made the correct decision.

Phil Neville on Hull's penalty: "The referee is 100 per cent wrong. I thought it was for Oumar Niasse on Phil Jones initially.

Analysis from our reporter Jeremy Cross, at the KCOM Stadium.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has seen a low shot superbly tipped wide by David Marshall in the Hull goal.

But all in all, United are producing a masterclass in how to make life difficult for yourself.

Hull head into half time having halved the deficit and with a genuine chance of overturning the scoreline.

Marco Silva's men might as well give it their all after the break. The prize is enormous and United look to be there for the taking.

Manchester United have been laboured and a little bit complacent but they're still ahead on aggregate.

High drama at the KCOM Stadium - and about time.

Hull have been handed the sniff of a comeback here after Marcus Rojo barged over Harry Maguire to concede a penalty.

It was soft, but the home side are not complaining and Tom Huddlestone has converted it, beating David De Gea low down to his right.

United have been shocking and need to pull their fingers out before the problems get worse.

39: HULL 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED - SAVE

Unbelievable save.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic teases Michael Dawson with some fancy footwork before curling an effort that David Marshal just tips wide.

35: HULL 1 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED - HUDDLESTONE

Fantastic penalty.

Tom Huddlestone tucks away an excellent penalty, low into the corner. David de Gea didn't stand a chance.

Now we've got a game on our hands!
20:42

Jamie Anderson

To Hull!

Marcos Rojo brings down Harry Maguire inside the area with a little tug on his shirt when challenging for a corner.

A little bit harsh, and slightly strange to see Hull receiving a penalty instead of giving one away!

34: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Analysis from our reporter Jeremy Cross, at the KCOM Stadium.

Mourinho is clasping his hands against his ears. He's feeling the cold and probably regretting having that crew cut earlier in the week.

Marcus Rashford is doing his best on the right hand side to kick-start United's evening but he's lacking support.

On the 25th minute there is a round of applause for Ryan Mason, whose picture is shown on the big screen.

Mason is recovering in hospital from a fractured skull suffered in a collision with Gary Cahill at Chelsea last weekend. He's not been forgotten.
20:14

Jamie Anderson

29: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

A terrific last-ditch tackle by Chris Smalling denies Michael Dawson, before David De Gea saves well from Oumar Niasse.

Shaun Maloney then blasts a free-kick over the bar… I know we're not allowed to say his name but Robert Snodgrass would have pinged that straight in.

Encouraging signs for Hull.
20:11

25: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Can we have a whip-round for Jose?

The Manchester United boss clearly didn't receive a wooly hat for his birthday. He looks freezing - especially with that trim!

He was almost warmed up by a Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal, but Adama Diomande managed to clear inside his six-yard box.

Supporters are on their feet applauding Ryan Mason. Nice touch.

Analysis from our reporter Jeremy Cross, at the KCOM Stadium.

Those who voted with their feet appear to have made the right decision.

This game is poor. Neither side appears that interested in making it a spectacle. Perhaps getting to Wembley isn't all it used to be?

Sam Clucas saw a free kick punched clear by David De Gea while at the opposite end United still haven't threatened.

At this rate both goalkeepers will be in serious danger of catching pneumonia.

It's Jose Mourinho's birthday too - and I'm sure he's spent previous ones in more glamorous surroundings than these.

Pneumonia is a small price to pay to see Oumar Niasse in action, Jeremy...
20:02

Jamie Anderson

17: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Referee Jon Moss is getting some stick for booking Phil Jones but ignoring an identical challenge on Marcus Rashford seconds later.

Anyway, Manchester United are starting to get into their rhythm with Marcos Rojo's shot deflected wide.

Hull CANNOT afford to concede tonight.
19:59

Jamie Anderson

13: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

A very impressive run from Oumar Niasse ends with Phil Jones deliberately blocking him. He's booked.

Sam Clucas blasts the resulting free-kick straight at David de Gea, who parries it to safety.

Who knew Niasse was a baller? Certainly not Everton fans...
19:55

Jamie Anderson

10: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

This is about as feisty as things have been tonight. The Tigers are showing Manchester United far too much respect.

Have a go, Hull! What have you got to lose?!

Harry Maguire must be reading this blog. The robust defender takes matters into his own hands and drives over from range.
19:51

Jamie Anderson

6: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Wow. I didn't think this match would be too much fun this evening, but this really is a dull opening.

Manchester United fans singing their hearts out. It's the only thing you can hear inside the stadium.
19:48

3: HULL 0 - 0 MANCHESTER UNITED

The away end at the KCOM Stadium is the only part of the ground that's full. Doesn't feel much like a semi-final...

HULL v MANCHESTER UNITED

Analysis from our reporter Jeremy Cross, at the KCOM Stadium.

It's not often Hull can match Liverpool, but the weather here on Humberside is just as cold as it was at Anfield 24 hours earlier.

Wayne Rooney might be relieved to be on the bench, so he can keep wrapped up in his tracksuit and winter coat.

That's his reward for becoming Manchester United's greatest ever goalscorer last weekend at Stoke.

Boss Jose Mourinho makes five changes in all as United look to get the job done with a 2-0 lead heading into this EFL Cup semi-final, second leg.

It's safe to say cup fever hasn't gripped the Tigers. The stadium is struggling to fill up and manager Marco Silva appears to share the enthusiasm of fans.

He's made seven changes and left some of his best stars on the bench. Avoiding relegation is obviously far more important, but having a genuine crack at reaching Wembley has to be worth a shot.
19:37

Jamie Anderson

JOSE MOURINHO

Yes we are favourites but yes the game is open. Hull City players have still their hopes and their dreams.

We have to play to win the match. We cannot be defending a lead. I think the players are really motivated. We had a difficult run to get here.

We have to be in control and reach the final. It's so important in a club, even one like ours with so many incredible finals and incredible days.

It's time for Mata and Mkhitaryan to have their rest, for Lingard and Rashford to play, bring their speed and happiness. Valencia also needed a rest.

Hull have to win but if they are too aggressive, too offensive, they give us chances to score goals. They will try for the perfect match because they need the perfect match to beat us.

Ah, Wayne Rooney is sporting his special boots this evening.

Wayne Rooney overtook Sir Bobby Charlton to become Manchester United's all time top goalscorer when netting against Stoke on Saturday.

And in honour of his incredible achievement, Nike have released a special pair of boots.

They're called the the WR250 Hypervenom (which sounds like some kind of American machine gun) but they don't have any lights on the side... they've missed a trick there.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino visited Ryan Mason in hospital today. Nice bloke.

The former Spurs midfielder is continuing his recovery from a fractured skull having undergone surgery at St Mary's Hospital in London.

Hull have since released a statement to say Mason is making "excellent progress," while Spurs players sent him a video message from their warm-weather training in Barcelona.

Pochettino said: "The squad sent a video from Barcelona to him, he is a special player for us and to me personally, he grew up here at Tottenham, he is a person that we love."

Good luck, Ryan!

HULL v MANCHESTER UNITED

There's always a negative with Jose.

Mourinho is wary of potential fixture congestion should Manchester United reach the EFL Cup final.

United seem on course for the Wembley showpiece but reaching the February 26 final would mean the Premier League game against Manchester City, scheduled for the same day, would have to be rearranged.

Mourinho said: "I know that it's going to be hard if we go step by step. If, if, if - we go to the field of the ifs - but if we beat Hull and we play the final then we don't play against Manchester City.

"The match against Manchester City I'm sure they will choose an amazing moment, difficult for us, to make us play against them.

"Then we have Europa League, a non-stop competition. In the Europa League you have to play last 32 and last 16. If we are going to progress it's going to be really difficult."
19:10

Jamie Anderson

JOSE MOURINHO

I have a special feeling for every competition.

Every club should enjoy being in big matches, in finals. It doesn't matter how many titles the club won before.

I think we should be really focused on trying to go to the final.

It's Wembley, it's a title, it's an occasion for a demonstration of love for the club with 30-40,000 fans travelling to London. I would like to go to the final.

Anthony Martial’s not involved again… and Manchester United fans aren't too happy about it.

Martial was left out of Jose Mourinho's squad for Saturday's Premier League draw at Stoke and was given permission to take some time off.

It has since been rumoured he was in Paris rather than the bet365 Stadium.

Mourinho has no issue with that, and challenged the winger to prove he deserves his place in the Manchester United starting XI.

He said: "Normally, I take one of the left out players to prevent any problem in the warm-up.

"But we don't have many days off, so I like to give the other players some freedom to choose if they need a weekend off when they are not selected. If, for him, it was better to go to Paris, that's completely fine.

"I don't think he lost his focus. I just think he didn't catch with both hands a big opportunity he had.

"We have still five players for these positions. I cannot give to one player chances to play and kill the others. I cannot give to the same player chance after chance after chance and not consider the effort of the others."

That's clear then...

HULL TEAM NEWS

Hull have made seven changes from the team who were beaten by Chelsea on Sunday.

Harry Maguire, Sam Clucas, Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson are the four survivors.

Youngsters Josh Tymon and Jarrod Bowen are involved, and there's also a start for Everton loanee Oumar Niasse.

Hull XI: Marshall, Maguire, Meyler, Huddlestone, Clucas, Maloney, Diomande, Dawson, Niasse, Tymon, Bowen.

Subs: Kuciak, Robertson, Hernandez, Elabdellaoui, Weir, Evandro, Markovic.

Rio Ferdinand can't understand why Wayne Rooney doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Rooney, already England's top goalscorer, finally surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton's Manchester United mark with his 250th goal for the club on Saturday.

Yet the 31-year-old continues to divide opinion among supporters.

And Ferdinand, Rooney's team-mate for United and England for 10 years, feels Rooney would be more appreciated in Europe than in his homeland.

He said: "I don't know what it is. I try to put my finger on it all the time.

"He is putting up numbers that nobody has done. He is surpassing records - landmark records that nobody has been near for 40 years. But there's always a 'but'. Why?

"I think he's appreciated more on the continent than he is in this country and that's a shame because a lot of foreign teams would love to have taken him many times."

GOOD EVENING,

Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Hull v Manchester United from the KCOM stadium.

We've already seen Southampton destroy Sky Sports' dream of having Liverpool in the final… can Hull finish the job?

The odds are heavily stacked against them.

The Red Devils are on course to secure a place in February's showpiece at Wembley having beaten Hull 2-0 in the first leg of their semi-final a fortnight ago.

But stranger things have happened… apparently.

Let's get going!
